The Winery

Castel Faglia

In the heart of Franciacorta, noble land of Italian sparkling wine, Castel Faglia was born from the union of tradition and vision. Founded in 1989, the winery is the result of the intuition of Rita Barboglio, an agricultural entrepreneur with a prestigious estate on the hills of Cazzago San Martino, and the Cavicchioli family. In 2010, Cavicchioli family took over full ownership, carrying the project forward with passion and expertise.

Nestled at the bottom of a morainic hill, 300 meters above sea level, the winery blends harmoniously into the landscape. Its bottles rest in the depths of the cellar, where time and silence shape their character in perfect harmony. The name Castel Faglia pays tribute to the past, recalling the ancient castle of Colonel Umberto Faglia, perched above the estate with sweeping views of Lake Iseo, whose gentle breezes caress the vineyards and define the unique microclimate.

Among woodlands and sun-kissed terraces, 24 hectares of vineyards cultivated like precious gardens, give life to carefully selected grapes. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Erbamat tell the story of this land and the experience of those who work it with dedication. Particularly noteworthy is Pinot Blanc—a delicate and challenging variety, rarely used, yet masterfully interpreted at Castel Faglia. Its thin, fragile skin demands utmost precision during vinification but offers the wine refined freshness and a remarkable aptitude for sparkling wine production.

Since the very first harvest in 1989, Castel Faglia has nurtured its vision through ongoing dialogue with Champagne oenologists, refining a style that is both elegant and harmonious. The Franciacorta Method, applied with passion and precision, gives rise to wines of great finesse, including the prestigious Monogram Cuvée.
